Ed van der Elsken (1925-1990)
My first teacher. First lesson (seventies): at the cattle market in ‘s-Hertogenbosch. Carrying his bag and changing the films … 😉 Ed van der Elsken was also the one who did the dark room work for Bresson (at Magnum in Paris)…
So far, I only had some mediocre ‘teachers’, except for one or two (Carl Uytterhaegen and Michiel Hendryckx). The last cohort of people pretending to be teachers in a Brussels Art School -Luca-, is the achievement and the proof of this statement. You’re certainly a lucky guy to have had Van Der Elsken as a teacher.
