Zuydcoote: I know the place as starting point for a marvelous walk. Just across the border. But I won’t make too much publicity for this village. Now it’s still a good kept secret…
It is a 1949 Prix Goncourt. Not all are good. But this one should be. I just checked in my library. Don’t have it. When my father died, I had to donate at least 30-40% of his Library to the French Lycée here. I didn’t have the space. They were delighted. 🙂
Bonne lecture. Or viewing. Et bon week-end Luc.
Berlin in global warming. 😉
Paris won’t escape either 🙂
Absolutely. I was there for a few weeks, with temperatures up to 36C. And our cities are not equipped to deal with that. 🙁
Mais il y aura des palmiers à Zeebrugge et Zuydcoote… 🙂

There was a novel on my father’s shelves: Week-end à Zuydcoote. Never read it I’m afraid. 🙂
I can imagine the marvelous walk. With a good coat though.
I’ve googled the book and the film.
I’m curious now… since the place is only 45 minutes away…
