These days I need quite a lot of energy; things are evolving so fast. Maybe I’m just growing older? @ the church tower of the village where I grew up : it’s the only ‘thing’ that remains the same after 50 years. A pity it’s catholic 🙂
If I compare Wassenaar and Leiden : Wassenaar has always been rich and the big houses have spoiled the beauty of the old village. Only a church and 3 streets remain. Leiden was industrial and poor. A century ago, the place was not fashionable. It decayed till mid 20th century. Then it became fashionable and it was preserved. The city is beautiful !
